Volga City Gravel Race

Ride the Driftless
This is a tough and scenic gravel race through the hills of Clayton County, Iowa. The race will start and end in Volga, Iowa. The route will include level-B roads and a small water crossing. It is a hilly course with more than 10,000 feet of climbing in the 105 mile course. The race will be self-supported with 3 checkpoints for the 105 mile course and 1 checkpoint for the 50 mile course. Checkpoints will have limited aid for emergency.
Any tire size or style of bike is allowed with the exception of e-bikes. GPS Navigation will be posted a week or two before the race as well as cue cards. There will be limited course marking, therefore you will want your own navigation. All proceeds from entry fees will go towards the development of Clayton County trail systems. We will have race shirts for all participants.
Camping is available at the Volga U Campground on a first come first serve basis. Packet pick up will be held in the Volga Opera House on Friday (October 2nd) 6:00-8:00PM and Saturday 5:45-6:45AM. A custom prize will be awarded to the male and female winners of the 2 courses. Cash prizes are up for grabs to the male and female champions of each race. Food and refreshments will be available in the Opera House at the conclusion of the race. Coffee will also be available in the morning before the race.

COVID restrictions go along with the restrictions set by the state. Please wear a mask indoors and stay 6 feet apart before are after the race.
We will have registration on the day of the race up until race start.
